CELPIP in Doha and Qatar: how to prepare while you work

By Michael Ukwuma

CELPIP is offered in Doha, so you can sit the test in Qatar instead of travelling to Canada. Here is how to prepare in Qatar with a free placement test, a daily plan and realistic practice.

CELPIP is offered in Doha, so you can sit the test in Qatar instead of travelling to Canada.

Many people preparing for Canada from Qatar work in construction, hospitality, health care and engineering, often with irregular hours. A plan that fits into 20 or 30 minutes a day works better than one that needs a free evening.

Start with your level

Before you book, find out where you stand in all four skills. The free Maple Path placement test takes about 25 minutes and gives you an estimated level in Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking, plus a daily study plan built around your test date.

A routine that fits a working week

My advice. Practise on a laptop if you can, at least for the mock exams. CELPIP is taken on a computer, and typing speed matters in Writing.

Free live classes

The free live classes run on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 9 pm Nigerian time, which is 11 pm to midnight in Doha. The join link is posted on Telegram before each class.

Booking the test

Book through the official CELPIP website, which lists current test centres, dates and fees. Book once your practice levels are steady at your target, not before.
